The Best Scary Movies
31 Best Scary Movies
Last year, I put out my list, but this year I spent a lot more time analyzing my picks and set a standard for myself on how to judge them. This list is not just simply the scariest movies, its the best scary movies I have seen.
First of all, that means there’s a list of movies you might think are better that I haven’t seen because I can really only convince myself to see one really scary movie a year… and this year it was “Paranormal Activity”.
Second, to seperate the really good from the just okay, the movies on this list are quality, well made movies and the movie (or a certain part of it) is the kind of frightening, creepy, or scary that stays with you and impacts you: the stuff of adult nightmares.
So here it is (as of 2009), the 31 Best Scary Movies (that I’ve seen):

1. “The Ring” (2002)
2. “The Shining” (1980)
3. “The Exorcist” (1973)
4. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974)
5. “Halloween” (1978)
6. “Psycho” (1960)
7. “Paranormal Activity” (2009)
8. “Saw” (2004)
9. “The Grudge” (2004)
10. “The Sixth Sense” (1999)
(INFO FROM AP:) Patrick Swayze, the actor who danced his way into viewers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
