Slater joining “Playback”, in town for a few days
Christian Slater joining cast of “Playback” shooting in West Michigan
Actor Christian Slater is in Grand Rapids and will be in town for a couple days as he joins the cast of the supernatural thriller “Playback”.
My sources tell me that Slater arrived yesterday and will only be in town for a few days, which means his role is limited.
Slater, will be playing “Frank Lyons”, a jaded and gritty cop who may not be who he appears. “Playback” follows a group of high school students who dig into their towns infamous past and unwittingly unlock an Evil that corrupts and destroys them. Possessing its victims through video playback and using them for malevolent purposes, evil closes in on one specific soul – threatening to expose the towns deepest, darkest secret.
Slater, known for numerous TV roles is best known for his starring role in the cult hit “Heathers” (1989), “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” (1991), “Bed of Roses” (1996), “The Legend of Billie Jean” (1985), and recently in the short-lived NBC drama “My Own Worst Enemy” (2008).
