Maybe you’ve played the game Portal. If you haven’t I’d suggest downloading it on Steam for its reasonable asking price.
If you’re familiar with the game then you probably recognize the picture below. I’d have to say the replica gun does look pretty impressive.

A replica of the gun used in Portal. (Image courtesy: Portal Gun Flickr)
According to the Flickr page, the gun was made for a costume. The Flickr page also says it lights up, both blue and orange along the tube, in the barrel, and the “indicator light” on top. There’s a two-way toggle in the back by the handle. The unit is powered by a 9V battery.
How about its measurements? Well, it’s 22″ long and weighs about 15 lbs.

Open a blue and orange portal, and travel between them. Well in the game at least. (Image courtesy: Portal Gun Flickr)
Check out the flickr page for more details and pics, including one with a little blood spatter (which is wierd, because there’s not actually blood in the game).

It’s not often that I’ll come out and say this, but if you play FPS games, you should play Team Fortress 2 (or TF2.)
TF2 is a great game because it’s the one I keep coming back to. I’ll play other games, but the large-scale team-based gameplay keeps me coming back.
Valve just released another content update for the game on the PC and they’re planning on keeping the content coming.
So here are my 5 reasons you should play.

Team Fortress 2 requires teamwork, or you won't get very far. (Pic from teamfortress.com)

What’s going on here? Well, WOOD TV Managing Web Editor Tim Steele has given me the honor of providing something the website doesn’t have yet: a voice for the gamer and gadget lover. So who am I? That’s what this post is all about.
I’m a producer here at WOOD TV with a love for all things digital. I’ve been a gamer for more than 20 years harking back to my childhood days with the NES. I don’t go all the way back to the beginning of gaming, but over 20 years I think I’ve played my fair share. I’m sure at some point I’ll do a Top X list of my favorite games, maybe even per system.
